Chapter XI: Explosive Clues
John had been used to such encounters, but this was different.
The enemy's troops are in large numbers, in this case.
John whispered to his walkie-talkie, "Someone, call our Air Field for support. Make it quick. These guys are huge!"
A voice called back to the speaker.
"Sir, they don't have muskets as before, in the border scene. They seem to be having-"
He stopped. Not a breath to be heard.
That isn't possible, John thought. "Then? What do they have? Respond!"
An unfamiliar voice blared through the speaker,
"We have your lives into our hands."
Finally a voice cried out,
"Sir! Bayonets! They have bayonets! French army! They are-"
A gunshot, and a lot of smoke.
"Anyone found a grenade launcher?"
"Yeah. An old model."
"Good. Does it blast 2 seconds late?"
"Sir, the gun is almost in its 70's. Don't know if it will work though."
"From which country have you joined the Army?"
"India, sir."
"State?"
"Kashmir, sir.."
"Good. Give more info on these guys."
"Sir, Air-"
A grenade was seen to be flying around the factory. Straight to the helicopter on top.
Boom!
"Good job guys, we blew the Russian's Air Support. Continue fire."
"Sir! That was our Air Support! From our Base! Why did you do that? You blew it up!"
"Oh, just give the gun. See that man on the pedestal, giving orders? Blow that guy's brains, for the country's sake."
He was kidding. There was no man on a pedestal.
"Okay, now, where is our grenadier friend? Find it, ASAP.
He saw a grenade, with no pin.
John only could think, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1-
Meanwhile what happened is this:
The gang leader had stolen the grenade launcher during the helicopter blast.
He took out all the grenades, gave it to everyone, which consisted of only 16 people.
He heard the helicopter, and said,
"Rest in peace, US military."
He threw it to the top of the Factory.
The other members in the gang did not move after they pulled out the pin.
John, after counting to 5, did not move.
The grenade in front of him did not blast.
The gang did.
"Haha! They are not at all trained at explosives! Mission accomplished, guys. Let's go."
No sound.
The Army had already run in safety of the blast.
"Never mind, I'll go.
A letter flew past his head. He took it.
It read,
'The Capitol Building, 1:00 p.m. Call the bomb experts. See you there!'
'See you there!', ok cool!
ReplyDeleteWell, this is the last straw for John, 'cause he knows that the next target is the Senate, in the Capitol Building during their conference meet.
